Love the Look: Burlap!

An inexpensive and good looking way to get great texture in a room is to use burlap like you would any other fabric. Here, you can see it as a cushion cover on a settee, a topper over a vanity table, a lampshade (found in a thrift shop for $3), and a pillow cover. You can buy yardage at the fabric store or keep your eyes open and get creative like we did here: the pillow cover is an old burlap sac (also found in a thrift shop, for $1 ) pulled over a long pillow insert and crudely hand stitched closed with some raffia to achieve a rustic natural feel. We love the look!

The burlap looks particularly chic and crisp with the white. I'm running out to buy some burlap.I think I'll try my hand at a few pillows!

I love that chair covered in burlap - it's the perfect fabric for a fancy piece like that..! Beautiful.
